Grape Agate gemstone is a relatively new find. Although the trade name is Grape Agate, these are actually Botryoidal Purple Chalcedony. So far there has been only one locality found, making this an extremely rare and valuable stone. Pieces that are dirty or sometimes barely purple have been dyed and are actually quite common to see on the market.
